GSA: The Pajama Game

GSA: The Pajama Game
The Unmissable Broadway Musical Comedy
-A union strike at a pajama factory generates plenty of ‘steam heat’ in this energetic 1950s retro musical comedy love story!
The Pajama Game was awarded the 1955 Tony for Best Musical, and over half a century later claimed the award for Best Revival of a Musical. The hit 1957 film starring Doris Day, and the 2014 London West-End production further prove this musical is truly timeless.
Conditions at the ‘Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory’ are anything but peaceful, as sparks fly between handsome new superintendent Sid Sorokin and feisty Union rep “Babe” Williams while the workers strike for a 7 ½ cent pay increase!
The Pajama Game features energetic songs and dances and plenty of fun and splashy production numbers, including hit 50s pop standards “Hey There”, “Hernando’s Hideaway” and “Steam Heat”. This perennial favourite is a sure-fire crowd-pleaser and a glowing example of classic American Musical Comedy.
Presented by Guildford School of Acting’s BA (Hons) Musical Theatre graduating cohort in collaboration with BA (Hons) Theatre production and MA Stage and Production Management students, by arrangement with Music Theatre International www.MTIShows.co.uk.
Book by George Abbott & Richard Bissell
Music and Lyrics by Jerry Ross & Richard Adler
