Drama workshops for 12-16yrs | Weekly sessions
Are you aged 12–16 and bursting with creativity, energy and a love for theatre? Whether you're a budding actor, a behind-the-scenes enthusiast, or just curious to try something new, the Young Company provides a space to build confidence, make friends, express yourself and have fun.
What is the Young Company?
- A theatre arts project at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre
- Delivered over eleven weekly sessions
- Develop skills in drama, musical theatre, movement, voice and more
- Work towards a final showing at the theatre in the summer term
- Opportunity to see Beauty and the Beast at the theatre
Who’s it for?
Young people with an interest in drama and performing arts between 12-16 yrs (school years 7-11)
When is it?
Weekly sessions on Wednesdays from 5.15 - 6:35pm.
17 & 24 Sep
1, 8, 15, 22 Oct
5, 12, 19, 26 Nov
2 Dec: Panto 7pm
Please note, to take part you will need to be available for the majority, if not all the dates listed above.
Where is it?
Sessions take place in the River Room.
Beauty and the Beast is our panto in our Main House
What to expect:
- Weekly workshops led by professional theatre-makers
- Acting, devising, movement, musical theatre, voice and more
- Opportunities to perform in a relaxed, supportive and fun environment
- Insight into the world of theatre - backstage and beyond. An opportunity to watch the panto and learn about how theatre is made
No experience needed – just enthusiasm and a willingness to explore. Whether you're interested in a career in theatre or just want to have fun and grow your skills, the Young Company is the perfect place to start.
Please note the last session of the Autumn term will be a trip to see Beauty and The Beast at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre on Tuesday 2nd December at 7pm. The price of the ticket is included in the fee for the term.
We have bursaries to support those on low income, and those who find it difficult to access creative arts activity.
